Kadam Marketing's revenue grew six percent from Rs 36 crore in 2000-01 to Rs 38 crore in 2001-02. This is quite in contrast to the 25 percent growth that the company posted in the fiscal before.
Also, company's ranking in the Next 25 Group declined by five places to reach #48. Kadam is looking at achieving a target of Rs 45 crore by the fiscal-end.
Though problems like credit squeeze by distributors, liquidity crisis of Nehru Place and defaults by resellers hit the redistribution business, Kadam still managed to come out strong. Kadam added products from Emerson and TVSE to its re-distribution portfolio.
"We made inroads into government departments last year," answers Anil Sachdeva, CEO, on being quizzed about the steps taken to beat the downtrend in the market. Kadam Marketing also got registered with National Consumer Co-operative Federation
(NCCF).
The other focus area that Kadam identified last year and has planned to make progress in the current year is retail.
