Adobe launches Photoshop Elements 2.0

Adobe Systems Inc announced the launch of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0
software, with new features for editing digital photos.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 is designed specifically for photo hobbyists and
amateur photographers.

Its new features include common application of lighting and color correction
in a single dialog window while viewing the original side-by-side with the
modified version. Its new browser allows users to preview, sort and organize
images in thumbnail form — all without opening the files. The new selection
brush masks unwanted areas of a photo for editing.

New paintbrush options simulate oils, watercolors, charcoal, pastels, and
different canvas textures so users can add touches to their photos.

Also, users can capture individual frames from video clips, which are saved
as still images for editing and sharing electronically.

Photoshop Elements 2.0 supports Windows XP and Mac OS X and is available at
an estimated street price of Rs 5,000.
