Altiris appoints Netpro as distributor

Altiris Inc, an Australian company offering IT lifecycle management solutions, has appointed Pune-based Netpro Technologies as its distributor for the country. Altiris offers solutions which integrate IT management functions that can be managed through a single web-based console. These solutions typically address IT needs like client and mobile management, asset management and server provisioning. Under this distribution arrangement, Netpro will not only technically equip its channels to offer Altiris solutions but will also work together with them to develop new accounts.

While this business is still at a nascent stage in the country, Altiris is very bullish about its growth. "Within the next two years, I am confident that India will contribute nearly 30% our APac revenues," comments Geoff Masters, MD (APac), Altiris Inc. Geoff further emphasizes that his company would only be interested in value-added partners in the country. "Ours is not a shrink-wrapped product and it needs a lot of understanding of client's IT usage and functionalities before one can implement Altiris solutions. So that way, only partners who are looking at a value-added business would interest us," adds he.

Netpro is not freezing on the number of partners right now but is keen on exploring all industry verticals for Altiris solutions. "These solutions are extremely beneficial in terms of ROI and managing costs of IT assets. So it would appeal to practically every organization interested in getting the most out of its IT investments," says KR Venkatraman, Director (Marketing), Netpro Technologies. According to him, Altiris solutions even offer partners a good service revenue stream, which they can explore to increase their
bottomlines.

Altiris is also quite keen on making a direct presence in the country. "Seeing the potential in the market here, we hope to have an office operational by the next fiscal," informs Geoff.
