Bard Roy expands its operations

Kolkata:  The recent economic rejuvenation in eastern India has
stimulated almost all types of companies to make investments in the region. But
now it seems that companies based in this part of the country are also set to
expand their presence in the national arena.

On the verge of this changing scenario Kolkata-based Bard Roy Infotech
recently opened an IT retail showroom in Ahmedabad. "We have been planning
to expand our operations beyond eastern region for quite sometime. We were
finally able to do this last month spreading our business to the western part of
the country. To start with, we have opened a retail showroom in Ahmedabad by the
name of IT Arena," said Pradeep Jhawar, Director, Bard Roy Infotech.

According to him the idea came from making Bard Roy a nationally acclaimed
company and also in an endeavor to be an active part of the changing visage of
East in the domain of IT. "Generally, companies based in western or
northern Indian cities are more likely to venture into this part but we wanted
to make a difference and take a company from Kolkata to make it presence felt in
the national IT retail market," he said.

Bard Roy is into hard-core solution space and is counted as among the leading
SI companies in Kolkata. IT Arena was their first venture as far as retailing is
concerned. "Although we are in the solution space we were looking for a
diversification. And retail was the best option given its current boom in the
Indian economy and bright future prospect. Therefore we didn't want to loose on
the opportunity," informed Jhawar.

The 900 sq ft showroom has been set up as a multi-branded display showroom.
Jhawar feels that Ahmedabad is a market, which is extremely prospective for
retail business. "All kinds of big retail companies have their outlets in
Ahmedabad. This is why we are also extremely bullish about our venture and are
expecting good business."

The company has also recently partnered with Logitech and is coming up with a
joint venture, which will be its second attempt at retailing. "We are
coming up with an exclusive Logitech brand shop in Kolkata very soon,"
concludes Jhawar.
