Binary opens Bangalore's first ThinkWorld

Binary Systems has opened the city's first IBM ThinkWorld showroom. Situated at Cunningham Road, this is tenth such
showroom in the country. IBM, through its partners, already has showrooms in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai,
Chandigarh, Lucknow and Kolkata.

So far Binary Systems has been a leading IBM partner selling its PCs and servers and expects that this retail foray will help it tap the
rapidly-growing mobility business. "The main focus of this ThinkWorld showroom would be on notebooks and to an extent multimedia PCs. We
expect this outlet to do really well," remarks Harish K Shetty, Chairman, Binary Systems.

According to him, this month-old outlet is able to sell one notebook  daily, on an average, to pure walk-in customers. "We also have put in place an
extended sales team to approach corporate customers and expect the  volume sales to scale up fast in months to come," adds
Harish.

Depending on the success of this outlet, Binary may also decide to set up similar showrooms in other cities of Karnataka. IBM, on its part,
expects to open up nearly 50 such ThinkWorlds across major B and C-class cities.
