BITA IT Show sets an example

Vadodara: Despite the recession and the gloom in the market, IT expos
have been fairing quite well. BITA IT Show for which The DQ Week wasthe IT media
partner joined the league with a grand expo held between Jan 24-26.

The footfall in the expo was around 50,000-60,000 people, which is almost the
same as last year, inspite of the economic slowdown this year. The IT Show was
inaugurated by the Vadodra Mayor of the Municipal Corporation-Balkrishna Shukla
and the local MLA Jitu Sukhadia. All the major brands like Samsung, Dell, Acer,
Epson, Intel, etc participated.

Amit Shah, Committee Member and a volunteer for the event said, 'The expo was
devoid of all signs of recession. The response was overwhelming. The reasons to
which we would attribute the success is the support from the people of Vadodara
and the team who worked hard day and night to make this event a grand success.
As we have been holding this event for the past 10 years, it would do
irreparable damage to our reputation to cancel it this year. So we went ahead
with it anyway and it turned out to be a huge success,' he added.

Shah claimed that they were having problems saying no to people for
sponsorship and participation as their 'hands were full'. The show had various
seminars some free and others with a paid registration, on latest IT trends and
market possibilities. All the workshops were interactive and very well-received
by the audience.
