Bits&Bytes on expansion mode

Jaipur-based Bits&Bytes is on an expansion mode and has recently extended
its Jodpur showroom from 800 sqft to 2,500 sqft. The two-floor showroom has
become one of the largest showrooms of Rajastan. On the reason behind the
expansion, Arvind Modi, CEO, Bits &Bytes informed, "There are a lot of
large format retailers (LFRs) coming up everywhere and we want to be prepared
for that. This is one of the survival techniques we are using. We have seating
arrangements for clients and customers who can get the 'feel and touch factor'
here. The showroom displays all major brands like HP, Compaq, D-Link, Zenith,
HCL, WeP.

The company has also become the regional distributor of WeP and has also
opened a branch in Udaipur. According to Modi, the Udaipur branch gives him two
advantages, firstly it helps Bits&Bytes to be in touch with reseller and
secondly it helps them to get in touch directly with customers. Right now there
is just one person appointed at Udaipur office but as the need arises, they will
appoint more. "There are only two big markets in Rajasthan - Jodhpur and
Udaipur and by opening a branch in Udaipur we will be covering both the region
well," said Modi.

Apart from being just box-pusher, Bits&Bytes is focusing on networking,
turnkey solutions, tender and LAN and WLAN projects. The agenda for this year is
to focus more on retailing and networking. The company has set a target of 30
percent growth this year.
