Borland introduces Codewright for programmers

Borland India has introduced Codewright -- an editing system -- for programmers in the development tool market. "Our product offers an alternative to the limited editing capabilities found in freeware editing solutions. It will handhold newer developers and help them code and assess from a single interface," says Satyen Parikh, MD, Indian Sub-continent, Borland Software, India.

According to Satyen, 60 to 65% of the coding community use freeware such as Text Editors available in the market. He feels that Codewright´s implementation will give users an edge over others and many developers will use this tool, even if it comes with a price tag of $300.

The product will be pushed through the company's authorized multi-dimensional partners in the country. This sales approach will not only help Borland educate programmers on the benefits of using an advanced editing software, but also position the product more effectively in the marketplace.

Borland is currently focusing on India and China as key markets for Codewright in APac. This region contributes about 22% of the company´s overall turnover. With the new launch, it is eyeing a double-digit growth in this region.
