Brother launches network multifunction printers

Targeting
SMEs,
Brother International (

India

) has launched the MFC-5440CN and MFC-5840CN multifunction printers with
outstanding quality and speed in mono and colour print: 20ppm mono, and 15ppm
color. They have print resolutions of up to 1,200 x 6,000 dpi for true
photo-quality outputs, and an image enhancement program for one to custom color
output.

MFC-5440CN and
MFC-5840CN are equipped with the revolutionary Capillary Tube Delivery System,
which uniquely delivers the ink from separate cartridges to the print head,
resulting in smoother operation, and giving the machines a much smaller form
factor.

As a fax, the
MFCs transmit at about 3 seconds a sheet, and support both mono and color
transmissions. The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) makes multi-page faxing a
breeze, while flatbed faxing lets you fax direct from books and bound documents.
It further come with: 33.6 Kbps fax modem, speed dials, remote fax retrieval,
fax forwarding, and delayed fax transmission.

As a copier, the
MFCs independently enable you to produce up to 99 high quality copies without
you having to turn the PC on. Documents can be manipulated with 2-in-1 and
4-in-1 copying and you can reduce or enlarge in one per cent increments to get
the exact image that you need. As a scanner, they come with the latest scanning
software, and you can also easily scan-to-email, OCR, image, file or memory
card. In addition, they have: Up to 19,200 x 19, 200dpi interpolated resolution
and up to 1,200 x 2, 400dpi optical resolution.

RS
Anandkumar,
country manager — Brother International (

India

), said, "We want to effectively leverage our presence in the offices with
innovative offerings that translates into an effective value proposition to the
end customer." To spread awareness about the concept, and its products,
Brother will be starting with a brand launch campaign and then conducting
focused programs through multi-channel promotions utilizing above the line and
below the line methods. The company plans to target medium and large sized
offices with these machines.

Both MFC-5440CN
and MFC-5840CN come network-ready so that other users in the home or office can
share printing, scanning and PC faxing. The PC Fax function allows you to fax
directly from the PC, saving the trouble of first printing out the document
before joining the physical queue.

In addition,
MFC-5840CN comes with a PhotoCapture Centre, which includes media slots that
allow memory cards from digital cameras to be read without a plug-in reader.
This can be done independent of the PC. One can even study a complete selection
of thumb-nails before selecting the pictures you want for direct printing! With
borderless printing, and a high photo-quality resolution, the MFC-5840CN ensures
that your photo print jobs are given true-to-life brilliance.
