CA launches security management software

Computer Associates (CA) has launched an enterprise security management solution -- eTrust Security Command Center (eSCC) -- to reduce security risks by managing security proactively. According to the company, this solution correlates, aggregates and prioritizes the quantity of disparate security data across the enterprise. 

“The three key benefits of eSCC are posture awareness through various security loopholes, reduction of costs and a greater RoI as it eliminates usage of too many tools,” explains Piti Pramotedham, MD for APac, CA.

According to Piti, security information overload can be as dangerous as not having enough security information. “By prioritizing security levels and events based on the potential effect on the business operation, eSCC can pinpoint and respond to business critical security incidents in the realtime," he states. 

The product supports BS7799 certification, standard for security best practices, by providing visualization and reporting of security data across the information system. CA's Consulting Director Rajendra Dhavale said that the solution could integrate security data from mainframes as well as distributed systems and network appliances.
