Compex launches SOHO router solution

Compex, a US-based provider of wireless (Wi-Fi) connectivity and communications technologies, has introduced its NetPassage 26G-USB which is an 802.11g wireless broadband router. 

Compex NP26G-USB is a wireless-G router (54 Mbps) with a built-in 4-port switch. It comes with dual USB ports that can support a Webcam and a tracker pod, or a printer. The web cam and tracker pod can be remotely accessed and easily controlled through a browser anywhere in the world, allowing for variety of solutions such as surveillance of office or home. 

The NP26G-USB also features nitro technology, which the company claims that increases speed, in a pure 802.11g Nitro supported environment, by 50 percent and by 300 percent in a mixed b and g environment. Other features include wireless distribution system (WDS), optional SPI Firewall, wireless pseudo VLAN, URL filtering and wired equivalent privacy
(WEP).

Compex NP26G-USB is priced at Rs 13,500 (suggested end user price) with three-year warranty. Compex's Wi-Fi products are powered by wireless networking chip sets developed by Agere Systems. Agere's WaveLAN solutions deliver cost-effective, low-power, high-speed wireless connectivity for a wide range of Wi-Fi applications.
