cooking up a storm

When he is not driving 3Com's business in India, Mohit Rampal prefers to
be in his kitchen rustling up some delicacies for friends and family. It is unusual for a man to don an apron and handle a ladle, but taking unconventional routes has always appealed to him

Mohit Rampal, Country Manager-India and SAARC, 3Com India follows a very
simple recipe to run his business smoothly. It is one bowl of business
knowledge, one tablespoon of market experience and one teaspoon of strategies
put together. This is then baked with lot of efforts and hard work and then
served with optimism, sprinkled with qualitative approach.

Getting the right balance, be it in business or while cooking, is what Rampal
likes best. This is probably why he started cooking right from childhood and
then took this hobby to the levels of passion.

Rampal executes the art of cooking right from his heart and gives a
lip-smacking taste to Mexican as well as Italian dishes, not to forget Indian
and Chinese cuisines. He yearns to learn to cook German and French delicacies,
but has not tried his hands at it yet!

Like a true cook, he does not reveal the secrets of the lasting taste of his
dishes. Instead it feels that cooking is an art and every individual should
innovate in putting the right ingredients, at the right time, to get the right
taste.

Rampal loves experimenting in his kitchen and does not mind spending a good
part of his weekdays there. Not surprisingly, a good part of his Sundays when he
is at home, is spent experimenting with new dishes and inviting his close
friends to sample it.

Though he loves cooking something new and keeps experimenting with old
recipes, his all time favorite is pasta and achari paneer, since he specializes
in spicy cuisine. Whenever he is out of the country, he doesn't forget to bring
a varieties of sauces to decorate the shelves of his kitchen and enhance the
taste of his homemade dishes too.

He finds Indian dishes to be slightly complicated in cooking but nonetheless
can cook up delicious kadhai paneer, idli, srikhand and dahi kabab. He even
cooks doughnuts on demand for one of his friend's daughter. He has now
transformed into a vegetarian but boasts of cooking mean rana meat also.

Rampal has been fascinated with cooking right from his school days and never
joined any cookery classes for it. He believes it is an art and does not mind
opening a cooking institute in future!
