Cyberoam gets certified

Mumbai: Cyberoam recently acquired the prestigious West Cost lab's UTM
Level 5 certification. Commenting on this, Harish Chib, VP, Cyberoam, (Elitecore
Technologies Ltd.) said, "We acquired the certification by submitting our
firewall, intrusion prevention and detection, anti-virus, anti-spam, and content
filtering products to West Coast Labs for testing."

West Coast Labs certify security products and are the only organization to
certify UTM products globally. The testing is done on three parameters, viz.,
functionality testing, performance validation, and integrity.

Chib added, "We are only the second company after Juniper to have acquired
a UTM Level 5 certification globally and the first company in India to do so.
This fact makes us feel proud of ourselves."

On the channel front, Chib said, "It is going to help us leverage our
channel business. The customer always questions the channel partner on the
integrity of a product. Now, armed with the 30-page test report from West Coast
Labs, partners can appropriately resolved all the customers' queries and
establish product differentiation and trust."

Another aspect of UTM products is that when all the features are turned on
simultaneously, the performance degrades. "This is not the case with Cyberoam.
West Coast Labs have tested our UTM for this very problem and have given a green
signal," said Chib.

Cyberoam also stands to benefit from the certification as henceforth it will
have that extra edge in bagging tenders for government projects where the
guidelines are strict and certification in many cases is a must.
