2,000 Down, And Still Click

While everyone enjoys clicking pictures of their kids, Vivek Malhotra of
IBM India has turned this passion into an art form. Having clicked over 2,000
pictures only of his children, he is still going strong clicking more daily
using several digicams and handycams for the job

Everyone loves his or her kids. And everyone loves to click their photos
to save the memories. But what began as a fondness for Vivek Malhotra, Territory
VP—North and East, IBM India, has now turned into a passion. The man has clicked over
2,000 photographs of his son-Siren and daughter-Devishi. And he is still going strong.

Malhotra always liked to click pictures. And when his children came along
he found the perfect subject for his fondness. Over time, he has changed several cameras
and his current asset is an 8.2 megapixel Sony digicam.

And what is surprising is that he has over 2,000 photos only of his
children. This excludes all the other photos that he clicks randomly. He jokes that it
will take a person a good two hours just to glance at his children’s photos.

"I don’t make a conscious decision to click the photos. Whenever
I am around my children, I simply pick up a camera and start shooting them," Malhotra
said. He also said that with kids around, it is simply natural to capture their antics and
mannerisms. "When I look at some of their photos when they were younger, I find it
hard to believe how time flies and how they have grown over the years," he noted
whimsically.

He likened his passion to carrying a pen in his pocket. One does not plan
to use the pen, but if you have to write you simply pick that pen up and use it.

With so many images, doesn’t saving them become a bother? Not for
Malhotra. He has saved the photos on his laptop’s HDD. And to ensure that he has a
backup for these images, he has even saved several of these on a USB drive. Additionally,
he has taken printouts of several photos as well. This is what you call playing safe!
