Group video-conferencing system from Polycom

Polycom Inc has introduced the VSX 7000, an entry-level group video-conferencing system. It enables efficient bandwidth use through H.264 video compression. 

The Polycom VSX 7000 features the audio—Siren 14Plus (14khz) wideband audio, an embedded high-fidelity speaker for mid-range sound, a sub-woofer and 360-degree microphone array. It also has the video—ProMotion video (60 fields-per-second), which provides TV quality, previously reserved for video conferencing systems. 

The automated error concealment technology prevents video and audio dropping out when network traffic becomes heavy.

The multiple network support provides customers with a choice of network interfaces–IP, ISDN and serial/V.35. 

The user interface in the VSX 7000 can be configured to meet specific business needs through color themes, camera icons, scrolling user instructions and a kiosk mode. A ‘recent calls’ feature provides a call quick list of up to 99 in-bound and out-bound call numbers. Additionally, users can display near and far video side-by-side on a single monitor.

The VSX 7000 supports 11 language translations in the user interface, remote controls, documentation, web interface and audio keypad confirmation simplify worldwide deployment. It comes with a standard one-year hardware and 90-day software warranty.
