HP broadens Itanium server portfolio

Hewlett Packard has expanded its server portfolio by adopting Itanium 2
processors for its high-end NonStop servers, which are capable of managing high
volume online transactions. These 64-bit machines offer 2.5 times additional
performance with respect to current generation systems based on MIP processors.

Some key features of NonStop servers are zero downtime, fault tolerant
systems; transactions do not abort despite component or any failures within the
system, scalable from 2 CPUs to 4080 CPUs. Other features are zero
error system, offers complete data integrity, sustained peak load
and disaster recovery system through inbuilt software features, ensuring
instantaneous takeovers.
