iBall launches Take Note

iBall has launched the Take Note, which uses ordinary paper and a ballpoint pen to digitally record any handwritten matter. Notes, ideas, drawings, sketches and flow charts can be scribbled on the pad and it will be stored in product's built-in flash memory. This can be then transferred to a PC or laptop, through a USB data cable. 

The iBall Take Note is a stand-alone device with storage capacity that digitally captures and stores everything one writes or draws on a paper. It need not be connected to the computer while the notes are taken on the pad.

Interestingly, the product uses standard paper and ballpoint ink cartridge, which are easily available at any stationery shop. Once these files are downloaded on to a PC or a laptop, these images can be edited, modified, colored or converted to text. They can also be mailed or stored for future reference.

Included with the package is a 30-day trial pack of a handwriting recognition software called MyScript that converts handwritten notes into text. The product's built-in 32 MB Ram can store over 150 pages and a CF expansion slot can have up-to additional 512 MB.

The iBall Take Note is targeted at business executives, consultants, secretaries, sales people, journalists, designers, engineers, doctors, architects, professionals and students. Besides end-users, verticals that can use it include educational institutions, medical, financial market, real estate, and security, legal, military, government, etc. 

The product is priced at Rs 9,900 and carries a one-year warranty. It is bundled with a portfolio case, in which the pad can be placed and carried around.
