Internet camera from D-Link

D-Link
has launched Internet camera, DCS-1000 for remote monitoring over the Internet.
DCS-1000 is an all-in-one system with built-in CPU requiring no additional
hardware or software. The Internet camera can be attached through Ethernet
connection and power source to start monitoring images. The Internet camera
supports both Active X mode for Internet Explorer and Java mode for IE and
Netscape Navigator.

Supporting TCP/IP networking, SMTP e-mail, HTTP and other Internet-related
protocols, DCS-1000 can be utilized in a mixed operating system environment such
as Windows, Unix and Mac. The camera can be mounted in various positions to suit
the application. It can also streamc live video shots over the Internet using
RJ-45 output connector and standard Ethernet cabling. The camera can be adjusted
to take pictures at specified intervals, or as the result of a specific external
trigger.

Built-in e-mail support also allows the camera to send notifications to a
designated address when an event is triggered. DCS-1000 is price at Rs 20,000.
