Chennai-based anti-virus company K7 Computing recently announced the launch
of K7 TotalSecurity, a solution for Internet-driven security threats to
computers.
K7 TotalSecurity incorporates a series of features that ensures computers
remain free from all network viruses, adware, malware, spyware, spam, Trojans
and other inappropriate content. “K7 TotalSecurity virus definitions are
updated twice every day. The anti-spam component is updated real-time, as spam
attack is launched anywhere around the globe,” informed J Kesavardhanan,
Founder and CEO, K7 Computing.
It may be noted that K7 TotalSecurity is the first Indian product to be
certified for Windows Vista. The TotalSecurity product also comes in packages of
single user, three-user and six-user packs at extremely affordable rates.
“K7 TotalSecurity is a prestigious Checkmark certified product that
reassures end-users of an anti-virus product's effective functionality and
performance. The VB100 award also demonstrates that K7 TotalSecurity detects all
'In-the-Wild' viruses during both on-demand and on-access scanning. The
product also generates no false positives when scanning a set of clean files,”
Kesavardhanan said.
He also claimed that K7 holds a 25 percent marketshare in the desktop market
in India. “Now we are trying to mark presence in the booming domestic markets
of India with the launch of K7 TotalSecurity and backed by a nationwide
distribution network of Compuage. K7 Computing will always remain a product
development company with creating and updating world-class products in the
security space,” Kesavardhanan claimed. He also informed that their R&D
team is busy at the drawing boards to address the growing demand for
multifarious security products and services.
S Sreeram, VP-Marketing and Communications, K7 Computing informed that they
would launch a K7 Antivirus Corporate Edition very soon. “K7 Antivirus
Corporate Edition will facilitate centralized management of clients to deploy,
update, quarantine and generate logs. The company is also working on mobile
security, to protect mobile communication devices from malicious programs that
are appearing in increasing numbers and diversity,” Sreeram said.
Once the above two products are introduced into the market during 2008-09,
the company plans to invest into providing security as a service. The company
also plans to launch their products in select South East Asian countries, Middle
East and USA through strategic partnerships, which are currently under negation.
