Katcom opens exclusive HP accessory zone

Kolkata-based Katcom International has recently opened an exclusive HP
accessory zone, which is supposed to be the first in India showcasing the entire
range of HP desktop and laptop accessories. The 250sq ft showroom located near
GC Avenue displays all kinds of exclusive desktop and laptop accessories
including, batteries, adapter, docking stations, memories, keypads, keyboards,
mouse, TFT screen, carry bag, Ipaq, pen drive and hard drives.

According to Dilip Kataruka, Business Partner, Katcom International,
"With this development I can see a new avenue opening up. HP has a wide
range of accessories catering to both desktops and laptops. But there has been
no showroom to display these products thus far."

For the venture Katcom has tied up with HP as its volume partner for all HP
accessories exclusively for eastern India. HP has offered support in terms
marketing and branding activities and also would supply material to the channel
partners across East.

"We have been receiving positive response since the showroom was
opened," Kataruka said. "Encouraged by the market response, we along
with HP have identified places like Guwahati, Siliguri and Bhubaneswar where
these types of showrooms can be opened. If things go well, we might open one or
two showrooms by this fiscal end itself," he informed.

Katcom has also booked a pavilion in Compass expo where it will be showcasing
the entire range of HP desktop and laptop accessories. "This is one of the
best platforms where we can get maximum exposure and generate awareness among
the users as well as channel," he added.
