Kiran Karnik, President, Nasscom says, "Many states have been actively
attracting ITES investment and Kolkata has the potential to be a significant
player. The state has some compelling offerings in terms of requisite telecom
and power infrastructure, low cost of operations, abundant and high talent pool
and a dedicated ITES policy by the government." Kiran assured that Nasscom
will work with the state government in highlighting these strengths and provide
necessary industry support to help Kolkata emerge as a favourable ITES
destination.

"With the state government offering attractive policy environment and
incentives, the rapid improvement in key infrastructure such as power, telecom
bandwidth, and real estate and the need for ITES companies to focus on lowering
operating costs such as employee and transportation will drive ITES vendors to
look at Kolkata as an ITES destination," he adds.
