Her in-depth knowledge of the industry has ensured her an enviable
position. Having built up her credibility and a team that trusts her decisions,
Nalini Jolly has now got her eyes focused on her goal-to maintain Toshiba's
numero uno position in the country

Job profile: As Country Manager, Jolly's job role primarily involves
looking after the India operations and offering marketing support. She has been
instrumental in furthering the interest of Toshiba Electronics Imaging Division
(EID), which looks after multi-functional peripherals in India. Her role also
involves addressing Indian market.

Background: Born and brought up in Dehradun, Jolly completed her post
graduation in Commerce and embarked on a career in the IT industry with Ricoh.
After that, she shifted to Canon where she worked for six years. For the past
four and a half year she has been with Toshiba.

Challenges: There are many women who have reached senior positions and
claim to have fought off sexist attitudes on the way. But not Jolly. As a woman
I have not faced any discrimination. This is due to the fact that I have been
able to win the trust of my team who have complete belief in my directions,”
stated Jolly.

Strengths: Ask Jolly what her strength is and pat comes the reply: her
in-depth knowledge of the industry. Another of Jolly's strengths is her flexible
approach. She has been able to build trust and faith in her credibility.

Family: Jolly lives in a nuclear family, which includes her nine-year
old daughter and husband. Balancing work and personal life is not an issue for
Jolly, who gives the credit to her supportive husband and cooperative daughter.

Hobbies: Reading, not just fiction, but any kind of literature that
adds to her knowledge is what Jolly enjoys doing most.

Future plans: Jolly wants to ensure that Toshiba retains its leading
position in the market. “That is the benchmark we have set for ourselves,” she
stated confidently.
