VISESH INFOTECNICS

In the last fiscal year, New Delhi-based Visesh Infotecnics turned a corner after it posted a negative growth in 2008-09. The major focus areas were hardware products, software applications, third-party software, mobile telematics, and web-related solutions amongst others. It continued to sustain growth in its software development business.
In the hardware business, the major brands that contributed towards its growth included HP, IBM, and Cisco, wherein HP contributed about 60 percent in revenue and the rest 40 percent came from IBM and Cisco. With branch offices in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gurgaon, and Kolkata, the company witnessed the growth mainly from the northern region, which was around 50 percent.

Like last year, there wasn't much activity on the international front. However, it focused more on domestic market and also explored other dormant markets to fully utilize the capacity of the existing units through its network of marketing offices and alliances with other players.

Though the year saw status quo being maintained with no developments happening either on the business tie-ups or expansion front, Visesh Infotecnics completed the deployment of smart cards at the Transport Department of the Andhra Pradesh government, worth Rs 3.25 crore.

In order to address the threat of attrition of skilled personnel, the company also focused on rapidly creating global size and scale and using best-in-class human resources policies to attract and retain talent. It also took certain measures to rationalize the office space. Going ahead, it is planning to enter into telecom business that would include dealing in mobile handsets, its accessories, parts, etc. The company intends to continue growing its business by enhancing the existing relationship and increasing the scope of engagements with the clients by providing tangible business value to its customers.
