MAXTONE ELECTRONICS: Long-term player

Not very long ago, Maxtone held the coveted position of one of the biggest
GIDs (Genuine Intel Dealers) in the channel business. Even today, Maxtone has a
big chunk of its revenue coming from Intel business, which includes CPUs and
motherboard. Motherboards being its core business, Maxtone soon became
associated as an expert in this business. Soaring popularity in the business
soon influenced the internationally acclaimed motherboard vendor — MSI, to
appoint Maxtone as its national distributor.

During the year, the distributor also added HP notebooks to its portfolio.
Within a year it started selling over 1,000 notebooks monthly, up from the
initial figure of 80 notebooks a month.

Maxtone dropped BenQ in 04-05. Considering the small business it did with
this brand, it was not much of a concern.
