Underscoring the strategic importance of India to its global business, Maxtor has decided to strengthen its focus on the country. The company, which had taken over Quantum last year, has formulated a three-pronged strategy to create brand and product awareness.
Says Yogesh Kamat, Sales Manager, Maxtor International, "We have strategized three stages for our re-entry into the Indian market. The first phase for us was to strike alliances with OEMs like HCL, Wipro, PCS, Vintron and Zenith among others.
|
Then we had dealer events in Mumbai, Delhi and Banaglore. This was in line with our second strategy to target A-class cities."
According to Yogesh, the company will now train its sights on B-class cities and also focus on high-end products. Maxtor will devise channel programs in conjunction with its national distributors Ingram Micro, Karma and Cyberstar. The company will help these three to set up service centers for its products and provide three-year warranty to customers.
