Micro launches notebook-tracking system

Micro Technologies has launched a new software product named Micro Lost
Notebook-Tracking System (LNTS). The product can reportedly locate stolen
laptops leveraging the World Wide Web (www).

Notebook computers are small, expensive and can easily be stolen. As per a
Micro Technologies statement, laptop thefts and losses are on a ceaseless rise,
which has led to serious damage for professionals and corporate. According to
industry sources, 97 percent of stolen computers are never recovered and 57
percent corporate crimes are linked to them. When a laptop is stolen, it is not
just the physical loss of a machine but also the valuable and sensitive
information that it stores.

The LNTS is embedded on notebook hard drives, allowing systems to be tracked
as soon as they are connected to the Internet. The statement added that Micro
LNTS not only tracks and recovers stolen computers but also deters theft. When a
laptop is loaded with Micro LNTS, tracking-agent software silently connects with
the company's monitoring center whenever the device is connected to the
Internet. If that notebook is reported stolen or lost, its location is tracked
and the owner can recover the stolen property.

The Micro LNTS is available in three different models-Micro LNTS Elite and
Premium for individual users and Micro LNTS Corporate for large organizations
and corporates.
