Microsoft unveils optical desktops

Microsoft Home & Entertainment Division introduced its range of Wired
Multimedia Optical desktops (multimedia keyboards and optical mice) and
multimedia keyboards, to offer greater functionality and ease-of-use for the PC
user. The product range is priced, starting Rs 750 for a multimedia keyboard and
optical mouse combo.

The features of Microsoft's new range of input devices include multi media
center, e-mail and Internet hot keys, Windows hot keys, wheel scrolling and
comfort for right or left hand. Optical technology, spill-resistant design and
three-year replacement warranty as per standard warranty terms are other
features.

The
new product range is designed to provide a complete desktop solution of
multi-media keyboards and optical mice. It is available in black and white color
options. The multi-media keyboard gives users full fledged multimedia center hot
keys in addition to hot keys such as one-touch access to e-mail, the Web and the
frequently used Microsoft Windows features they use most.

Also,
the compact and durable keyboard design fits easily in most keyboard trays,
enabling users to get more space on their workstation. The new range will have
keyboards and mice available in retail combo packs as well as stand alone retail
packs.
