Moving On Up

In her 10-year stint with Intel, Khanna has essayed a number of roles with
aplomb. She is confident of now climbing higher up the corporate ladder

Career background: I started my career at Hiranandani Software &
Systems and then went on to work for Embee Software (a national distributor for
major software companies). Post this, I was a self employed entrepreneur for two
years before joining Intel.

Turning point: Career-wise, joining Intel and getting the opportunity
to do a variety of roles has been the turning point of my life.

Dealing with men at work: I've had a very fulfilling journey at Intel
and have never felt discriminated. On the contrary, Intel is truly a great place
to work where equal opportunities are provided to all its employees.

Strengths and weaknesses: My family and team members are my biggest
strengths as they help me succeed at my workplace. I also consider my
self-confidence as an asset because it helps me experiment with new ideas and
deliver results. I enjoy my job and therefore tend to get over involved with
work, thus I continuously strive to achieve a healthy work-life balance. I am
blessed to be in an organization that fosters work-life balance and have
tremendous support from my family.

Family life: I spend a lot of time with my family on the weekends.
There is no fixed formula that one can apply to balance personal and
professional life. I've never had an issue managing both family and work and I
owe it to my family who have been very supportive and helped me to be successful
at work.

Career advice to working women: My advice would be to believe in
oneself, have self-confidence and be disciplined about your work. Being patient
and persistent always helps in overcoming all hurdles in the growth path and
ensuring success.

Hobbies: I have a keen interest in arts and also enjoy listening to
music and cooking. I spend a lot of my free time around the house and love
playing with my nephews.

Future plans: I plan to continue doing good work and staying on the
growth trajectory in my career path to ultimately hold a leadership position in
my organization.
