The firewall provides protection against more than 250 application-level attacks and protocol deviations targeting key Internet services like web, e-mail and file transfer resources. Customers have the option of configuring the deep inspection protection on a per-policy basis for one, several or all supported protocols.

The Deep Inspection builds upon the stateful firewall, VPN, denial of service protection and traffic management capabilities, currently available in NetScreen's integrated firewall/VPN appliances and systems to provide advanced network- and application-level protection.

NetScreen-Security Manager manages the device throughout its life cycle, including deployment, configuration, surveillance, maintenance and upgrades.
