Omnitech launches OmniManageIT

Encouraged by the positive response to its first software product, Omni-BiznessIT,
Omnitech Info-Solutions has launched OmniManageIT, a comprehensive IT management
suite. The product is aimed at CTOs, CIOs and IT managers among enterprises and
corporates.

The 10-module software suite is divided into three main categories: IT
infrastructure services which include helpdesk/call management, asset and IT
budget management; IT process management services which cover purchase,
contracts, activities and software license management; and IT info management
services covering resource, training and knowledge management.

The full-fledged suite is priced at Rs 2.5 lakh for five users while half the
number of modules would cost Rs 2 lakh. For a minimum of three modules, the
price has been pegged at Rs 1.55 lakh. "To make the suite secure for our
clients, we have developed it with ‘named users’ and ‘assigned users’,"
points out Atul Hemani, Director, Omnitech.

OmniManageIT has Oracle as its back-end and Java, front-end. The product is
built for the Internet and can work on Windows or Linux. Hence, information can
be accessed from anywhere using any device including a PC, PDA or a cell phone.

The product is primarily aimed at corporates in the finance, insurance,
banking and services segment. "We are not looking at the manufacturing
segment seriously because many companies in this segment have implemented ERP
and may find this suite a duplication," says Atul.
