New Update

At the start of 2007-08 the promoters of Orient Technologies made a strategic
decision to shift from the box pushing business to focus more on solution
providing. Since the volume business, largely from laptop sales, was
contributing heavily to the revenue, the organization prepared itself to see
sluggish topline growth. But this cautious approach was unnecessary because the
company clocked a healthy turnover of Rs 101 crore in 2007-08, up from Rs 77
crore the previous fiscal.

over other customer verticals. But last fiscal the company had some good deals
from the BFSI segment as well, which contributed 30 percent to the overall
revenue.

The company also made a foray into the global market, starting with
implementations for a couple of customers in Australia. It is now planning to
have operations and offices in Sydney as well as Dubai. In the coming fiscal,
Orient will focus on offering managed services for most of its customers. It
will also spin off consulting and integration as a separate business unit.
