PC Solutions : Driven By Services

Fiscal year 2008-09 saw PC Solutions go beyond Indian shores and implement
system integrator (SI) projects involving blade servers, enterprise storage
products with clustering of servers with Red Hat or Microsoft OS with Oracle
database clustering as well.

These projects were mostly in Africa, which is a developing market and the SP
took advantage of the there is a scarcity of skills there. The countries covered
by PC Solutions include Singapore, Liberia, Ghana, Cyprus, Bissau, Guinea,
Uganda, Qatar, Kenya, Egypt, Benin and Seychelles. Each project was worth
approximately Rs 5 crore.

Though the SP recorded a negative growth in its revenue, last year saw the
company consolidate its operations in India. A major part of its revenue came
from managed services and then facilities management. Among its achievements in
the past year was the implementation of Microsoft Unified Communication (UC)
solution including IM, web conferencing, video conferencing, office
communication server (OCS) for seven customers, connecting close to 35,000
end-points.

In keeping with the business needs of its customers the two areas where PC
Solutions saw high traction were, virtualization and UC. With a service-oriented
approach the company is focusing on quality of deployments rather than the size
of the order. With a separate team for each business unit/solution there is a
concentrated effort towards providing end-to-end solutions and being bottomline-conscious.
