Quantum MAKO PX720 now available

Quantum Corporation’s MAKO PX 720, an enterprise tape automation library
designed to address backup and archive operations is now available in India. The
MAKO unit holds up to 20 drives and 732 slots and has a total capacity of up to
146.4 terabytes. A single frame can scale up to 20 DL tapes or LTO drives. It
supports SDLT 320, SDLT 600 and LTO-2 tape drives.

Every MAKO system is equipped standard with redundant cooling and power
systems. Options can be added or upgraded to modify the library for changing
environments. MAKO offers a wide range of connectivity options including SCSI,
bridged FC, native FC and gigabit Ethernet.

A typical enterprise configuration in India will include four drives, 100
slots, SCSI connectivity, redundant power and cabling, library management and
training. It is priced around Rs 45,24,200.
