Jain takes life as it comes, and has adopted professionalism to an extent
that she believes in living quarter by quarter

JOB PROFILE: Started-off with managing the retail business of Kochar
Infotech, Mamta Jain is the MD of the company currently. She heads the human
resource and training segments of the company, and handles more than 3,000
employees at four locations that include Bengaluru, Kolkata, Baroda and Amritsar.
She has an entrepreneurial experience of over eight years in retail, IT and ITes.
She started her career by handling computer retail, where she tackled sales,
logistics, after-sales service, and complete SBU.

BACKGROUND: Born in a business-oriented family of Kolkata, she
attended a school in Bokaro, and graduated from Kolkata University. Initially
involved in the retail business, she was quick in learning the tactics of sales.
Her dedication and understanding of business helped her to negotiate with the
national distributors and channel partners. She has demonstrated her versatility
by stepping into multiple roles in the company.

CHALLENGES: She is not afraid of taking up any challenges that are
prevalent in the male-dominated industry. The challenges, which she faced are
competing with low-end resellers who were working at very small margins. Despite
being stationed in a small city like Amritsar, she has had enough exposure to
the outside world. This has immensely helped her to be what she is today.
However, the major challenges, she said lies in getting the right people
on-board at the right time.

HOBBIES: She usually starts her day with a cup of tea and spends some
time in yoga. She ideally wants to spend weekend with the family. However, for
her Sunday is a synonym for sleeping and shopping. She loves to go out and see
natural and scenic places. Her favorite holiday destinations include Moksha at
Timber Trail because of its scenic beauty and Spa. She likes continental food,
and loves to listen to Kishore Kumar songs. When it comes to movies, she opts
for romantic comedies. One of her favorite pastime includes reading books on
varied subjects, including science fictions.

STRENGHTS: With an expertise in human resources, her major strength is
understanding the right people for a role. She further said that her husband,
Jitender is her role model whose passion and energy inspires her to perform and
deliver better. According to her, the inspiration from her husband is the
greatest source of her strength.

ROADMAP: As the bearer of one of the strategic positions at Kochar
Infotech, she has additional responsibilities to facilitate the operational
expertise with periodical training programs. Currently, her team is one of the
largest team in mobile data services. She is also looking forward to get into
the international market with company's products and services portfolio. She
takes life as it comes, and has adopted professionalism to an extent that now
she believes in 'quarterly lives'.
