Chennai: Distribution major Redington India Ltd has recently done a rejig on
the channel front. The company moved KS Nandakumar from the West region to the
South, to handle the larger territory. Nandakumar was earlier taking care of the
rest of West or RoW region (excluding Mumbai) in the capacity of general manager
and now, has been transferred to the South in the same rank. He will be based
out of Bangalore, which is the number three region for Redington in India.

Manish Joshipura who was a branch manager in Bangalore and Hetal Shah, his
counterpart in Pune, have been graduated to the posts of regional manager West
and North, respectively. Joshipura has now moved to Pune and will take care of
the RoW market. Similarly, Shah has now been shifted to Chandigarh to manage the
rest of North territory (excluding Delhi).

Tapas Moitra, who was GM-East, based in Kolkata, is now moving to head the
Mumbai region. He will be replaced by Sanjay Saha in the East. In another major
development, the company moved Ramesh Natarajan, who was earlier taking care of
the networking and power business unit, (SBU) to national head (sales) for all
six IT business units. Natrajan's graduation to that post is seen as a
remarkable development.

Redington is currently on a healthy cliff and growing consistently in the
market. According to market sources, all these moves are part of the company's
strategic initiative to build a strong and robust organization, as the company
is waiting for a big leap forward when it becomes a full-fledged supply chain
enabler.

“I would say it is a routine restructuring exercise carried out whenever
some vacancy arises. There was a vacancy in North and while filling in, we made
all these changes, mainly to give seniors first preference and a larger role
with more responsibilities,” said PS Neogi, President, Redington India.

It is also important to note here that during October last, Neogi and Kasturi
Rangan were made president of Redington, when the then CEO Jitendra S Kulkarni
exited the organization. While Neogi takes care of IT business, Rangan is
driving the non-IT part, mainly consumer electronics and telecom products
distribution. The company first signed LG for distribution and later added Sony
and Whirlpool for select markets.

As part of this initiative, it also brought Rajesh Khetarpal, who was
handling IT as general manager (South), from Bangalore to Chennai to build the
non-IT business. Khetarpal has been promoted as VP and will be working closely
with Kasturi Rangan. Also, Vidur Sehgal, who was earlier heading the North
region as GM, was promoted to VP and now looks after the Microsoft Xbox
business, based out of Delhi.

Overall, Redington India is aiming big in the distribution space by
graduating itself into a professional supply chain enabler for a wide range of
industry segments. And more exciting news and developments are awaited in the
process.
