Riverbed Technology opens Indian office

Riverbed Technology, a vendor in application acceleration on wide area networks, announced
the opening of its offices in India. Riverbed's expansion into India is a response to strong customer and partner demand as organizations recognize the importance of optimizing wide area network (WAN) performance for a broad range of applications and services, including IT consolidation, backup and disaster recovery, and application acceleration. 

Earlier this month, Riverbed also announced the opening of its Australia offices. With this expansion, Riverbed has established its presence in Asia Pacific
with its regional headquarters in Singapore and operations in India, China, Korea and Australia.

"Riverbed customer demand is driven by organizations with distributed workforces," said Jerry
Kennelly, CEO and president of Riverbed Technology. "We've seen tremendous demand for Riverbed's unique product capabilities in both India and Australia. The opening of offices in Bangalore and Sydney enables Riverbed to respond more rapidly to this demand and gives us the ability to provide local support."

To lead its sales efforts in the Indian market, Ajay Desai has been appointed as Country Head of Riverbed
Technology India. He was earlier Country Sales Manager at StorageTek.

As part of the operations launch in India, Riverbed is conducting a series of field seminars aimed at CXOs to familiarize them with its WDS solutions and how these solutions can boost remote office productivity and
performance. These were held in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai.
