Sharp rolls out color MFD

Sharp has launched the AL 1217 multi-functional digital copier that functions
as a color scanner as well as a printer. The MFD comes with Scan Once/Print Many
feature allowing it to store scanned originals into the memory and then
producing up to 99 sets of documents at a rate of 12 copies per minute.

The AL 1217 has laser printing option and allows printing from Windows-based
PCs at a maxium speed of 12 ppm. The MFD uses a 600 dpi laser printing engine.

The full-color scanning capability is bundled with utility softwares. The
Button Manager allows it to scan documents directly into applications on PC.
Different applications are also possible such as e-mail, PC-fax, OCR, and
Microsoft Word.

Its other features include digital automatic exposure control which ensures
optimum copy quality, 250 sheet paper tray, wide zoom range, dual PC interface,
space saving interior document tray and energy efficient operation with pre-heat
and auto power shut off modes and a cost-efficient toner save mode.

The AL 1217 is priced at Rs 50,000.
