Sonicwall unveiled the Sonicwall Network Security Appliance (NSA) E7500, a
new gateway security appliance that makes deep packet inspection security
productive and easy to manage in larger network deployments. The NSA E7500 is
intended for campus networks, distributed environments and datacenters. The NSA
E7500 harnesses the power of multiple processing cores in a single network
platform.
The NSA E7500 incorporates a suite of features at the hardware and system
level to maximize uptime and improve security coverage. The platform includes
integrated security services including dynamic threat prevention, content
filtering and application control. The NSA E7500 also includes virtual private
network (VPN) implementations and deployment flexibility, four high-speed
gigabit Ethernet copper interfaces and four high-speed configurable SFP (small
form-factor pluggable) ports, and built-in secure wireless LAN functionality.
Deployment flexibility and productivity enhancements are achieved through the
integration of standards-based VoIP capabilities, virtual local area networks (VLANs),
enterprise class routing and QoS features.
