STMicroelectronics Turbo PSD3300 micro-controllers

STMicroelectronics introduced the Turbo PSD3300 series of its PSD family of 8051-class embedded Flash micro-controllers. It offers system-level-integration with Flash and SRAM densities (up to 256 kilobytes and 32 kilobytes, respectively) for general purpose 8-bit micro-controllers. It increases performance to 10 MIPS peak and adds a rich peripheral set to form an ideal SoC for embedded control applications.  

The PSD3300 series includes a 16-bit programmable counter array, 10-bit resolution ADC channels, SPI and IrDA interfaces. Additionally, the enhanced PSD3300 JTAG in-system programming interface supports JTAG emulation, thus eliminating the need for a hardware in-circuit emulator. 

Based on ST’s proprietary programmable system device architecture, the device features dual independent banks of Flash memory, up to 32 Kbytes SRAM, and over 3000 gates of programmable logic with 16 macro-cells. The dual bank Flash architecture and programmable decode logic support true read-while-write concurrent access, otherwise known as In-Application Programming
(IAP). 

Memory mapping is handled by an integrated decoding PLD that can assign any Flash or SRAM memory segment to any address on any memory page or bank. Additionally, Flash memory can be allocated to 8032-code space or data space in almost any proportion as needed.
