Coimbatore, one of the most important tier-2 cities in SouthIndia, boasts of intellectual capitalamidst its diverse range of population.The best example, in this respect canbe cited as Ganesh Babu of Sun Systems.Babu started the company in 2004,mainly concentrating over sales andservices and has tied-up with industrymajors, HP and Dell. After finishing hisdiploma in Velumalai Polytechnic, Babustarted working in a software firm for ayear and half. Once he gained enoughexperience in understanding the tradeand the trends in software, Babu wantedto venture out on his own.

Recalling the challenges Babu said, “Ialways wanted to start on my own evenif its a small firm. Today I am happy thatI have established my business to thisextent. My initial capital was just Rs 1lakh but today I am churning almost fourtimes the amount.” Withstanding thepressures, Babu has now converted SunSystems into a multibrand service center.

ACHIEVING WORK LIFE BALANCE

Apart from work Babu is an avid sportsenthusiast and loves watching movies.“I miss my college days. Those were themost memorable days of my life, butnow I have responsibilities. Recently Ivisited Ooty with my friends and had ablast.” Babu's family comprises of hisparents and younger sister whom he iscompletely protective of. “Since she isyounger, I am protective about her butwe also share good rapport as friends.Since she is in college, she is natuarallymore outgoing than I am. Since thebusiness requires him to put in longhours, Babu spends quality time withhis parents and sister. “Since we havealways been a close knit family, I love tospend time with my family. I am yet toput my business on a high pedestal andmy family understands my ambition.Whenever I am off work, I make it apoint to take them out,” shared Babu.

FUTURE

Sharing his future plans Babu said, “I want to expand my business not onlywithin Coimbatore but outside as well. I also want to explore businessopputunities outside IT sales andservice.” Since the company is fairly newto the market, Babu also plans toestablish a footprint and create goodwill.Babu remarked, “It takes a while forpeople within the industry and outsideto know you. I want to create goodwillamongst my customers and businessassociates. Now that my basic groundwork is done, I will build my dreamsslowly and steadily. That's my onlymantra to success,” concluded Babu.
