Tyco ties up with Ingram

Tyco Electronics Corporation India has announced a marketing tie-up with
Ingram Micro India for the distribution of AMP Netconnect range of UTP and fiber
range of structured cabling systems products. This alliance makes Ingram Micro
the third national distributor of Tyco in addition to Compuage Infocom and Tech
Pacific.

As part of its channel initiatives, Ingram plans to appoint 20 stockists and
resellers under its networking solutions division. This will also enable Ingram
to position itself as a one-stop source for meeting distribution needs for
networking products.

"The combination of the AMP Netconnect’s superior technology product
offerings and Ingram’s vast partner network puts us in a strong position to
service the Indian market effectively," says KK Shetty, Country Manager,
Tyco Electronics India. "Ingram’s dedicated team to manage networking
business reflects their focused approach to this area and will help us provide
value-added support to our channel partners," he added.

Besides helping increase its geogrpahic reach, Shetty says that this
relationship will help Tyco achieve its targeted 34 percent marketshare compared
to the present 32 percent share in structured cabling.

Tyco is also planning to invest in manufacturing of 8, 16 and 24 ports
Ethernet switches and multiple product outfit solutions in India. The
manufacturing initiatives for these products will commence from October this
year.
