Udaipur Computer Association defunct?

About 150-members strong Udaipur Computer Association (UCA), which was once a platform for channel partners to address issues like policy, efficiency, competitiveness and expanding business opportunities through assorted services, has lost its influence with the local channel community. In fact, its very existence is in question. 

“UCA was dissolved more than a year ago and currently we have no plans to form an association,” said Pavan Kothari of Ficusa Enterprises, who once was the UCA President. Partners in Udaipur are not eager to revive UCA or even talk about it. “We are united without an association. It is just that we do not have a common platform so as to speak,” said Anil Kothari of Parishram Informatics. 

On the contrary, Mukesh Siroya, the last working President said, “The association is not yet dissolved. It is just that we are not so active.” On being asked why no efforts were being taken to activate the association, Mukesh said, “Members were not able to spare time for association meetings. But we are now planning to work over it.” 

Vinay Sharma of Pioneer Computers, also a former Secretary of UCA and Member of the last executive body said, “We are planning to talk to dealers to find out what we can do to revive the association.” The once active body, UCA could have become the voice of a small city like
Udaipur. But with many channel partners showing no interest in the association and its activities it seems far from revival path.
