Value Point Systems : Aiming High

Value Point Systems registered a growth of 22 percent in 2007-08 to post a
turnover of Rs 192 crore, up from Rs 158 crore in the previous year. It achieved
this growth by focusing largely on offering solutions around security, wireless
and networking. A bulk of the company's business came from South, which
contributed 75 percent to its overall revenue, while West brought in around 10
percent. The company also opened a branch office in Kolkata in 2007-08 and is
now looking forward to better revenue participation from that region as well.
IT/ITeS was the segment that brought in the highest amount of business at 30
percent contribution to the overall revenue. SMB/SME netted in revenues close to
25 percent.

Value Point plans to expand its headcount and next fiscal will see the
company hire close to 48 new employees depending upon their needs, up from the
current base of 1,040 people, with 235 of them currently belonging to the
technical support team. This year too the company intends to recruit more people
in sales, marketing and tech support.

The company received the Gold award for Best SI, Bengaluru from 'DQ Week this
year. It also executed some firsts in India projects. One of these was a SQL
database consolidation on Polyserve implementation for a large call center in
the country. With this solution the customer's investment on hardware and
manpower to manage 85 SQL instances in its organization are minimized and
instead can be managed by one console.

For another construction giant Value Point sold the first HP BL 870c Quad CPU
capable Intel Itanium 2 Integrity blade solution. This solution was again for
SQL database consolation for Microsoft Share Point, SMS and some third-party
application servers.

Last fiscal, Value Point introduced products from Aruba, Bluecoat, Citrix, VM
ware, Clipsal, Ramco ERP solutions. This year, the company will also be looking
to increase its focus on data center solutions including power and cooling
solutions, virtualization, remote management solutions, asset and remote
management solutions.
