We have to keep on moving

A s I sit down to write this edit, I am in a state of shock and at the same
time have a sense of achievement also. As a result I am confused. Don't know
whether I should let the sad part prevail over the happy part or vice-versa! Let
me first give the reasons for both the conditions.

I am in a state of shock as I just lost my dear mother who after battling
with cancer for almost one year, finally gave up the fight and left me-the
only son-in mourning just four days back. And as she went on to her next
karma, I am left pondering how to cope up with such a tremendous personal loss.
Tremendous, because she meant the world to me. I still can't believe that she is
no longer there. However, I have to accept the harsh reality and move on.

And I have a very good reason to move on. This issue of DQ Channels is its
150th issue, which is quite an achievement in an age where the mortality rate of
publications-especially channel mags-is pretty high. During this saga of 75
months or six years, we have done rather well for ourselves. This has been
largely possible due to the unflinching support we have received from our
readers-the channel community of the country.

As you go through this special issue, you will find lots of specials.

First and foremost is the annual listing of India's top 50 distributors and
top 50 solution providers. Based on their respective toplines, the rankings give
a complete picture of the last financial year's scenario. Find out who is ranked
where and how the rankings have changed over the last couple of years. In
addition, we also analyze how these companies performed last year.

Second special is a 36-page pull out 'Solution Providers Guide', which is
another first from any channel publication in the country. Divided into eight
sections, it's a step-by-step guide for the rapidly growing solution provider
community of the country. The sections have been chosen with great care so as to
reflect all the contemporary topics. We will ensure that this also becomes an
annual feature, which our readers can look forward to.

But our journey is a never-ending one. Just the milestones keep changing. And
as we enter the next phase of our journey, we will continue to strive hard to do
better than the expectations of our readers. For this I am sure I will continue
to have the blessings of my mother-wherever she is in the heavens-as always.
