Earlier based in Delhi, Ranbir was looking after WeP business in north India.
Talking about the restructuring process, Singh said that the company has shifted
gears to reorganize itself in alignment with its business process and customers
as against its earlier alignment in line with geographical regions.

While the geographical zones continue to exist the business has been divided
into two streams — business products unit headed by Singh and customer
products unit headed by SR Prakash. Constituted around the need to define the
business process the business products unit focuses on large accounts and
customer interaction while the consumer products unit, which also includes the
WeP consumables business, caters to channels.

"The new processes are being defined and implemented," said Ranbir.
The company has put in place a CRM package Biztrack to capture each and every
customer profile and related information. The focus in this unit is on the fact
that customer needs to be known. On the other hand customer products unit
focuses on the company's pull products with a sustained, centralized campaign.

"Restructuring has touched each and every location WeP Peripherals
operates from," informed he. Ranbir elaborated that all of company 19
locations now have at least two people catering to these two business streams.
The company has increased the headcount from 65 to 120 in its sales organization
for the two units.

"The strategy is to grow both the business streams systematically in
terms of product portfolio as well as geographical coverage," said Ranbir.
Also, on the horizon are acquisitions. "With a goal to become a Rs 1,000
crore company by 2007 it is but natural that we would take a combination of
organic as well as inorganic growth route," added Ranbir, confirming that
an acquisition or maybe a couple of them are certainly on the way.
