Winners all the way

The DQ Week is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. The Sep 11
evening was one of the most awaited events of the year. The DQ Week, the only
news weekly for channel community awarded the best of the best for their
excellence.

The DQ Week annual awards were given away at Mumbai for western region
compromising of the three states including Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat.

Parvez Siddiqui, Regional Manager-West, Samsung India gave a presentation
on the products and opportunities Samsung offered to the channel community.

Shyam Malhotra, Editor-in-Chief, CyberMedia Publications in his opening
address highlighted how IT industry was growing exponentially from Rs 100 crore
to Rs 56,000 crore in 2006 with industry growth rate at 25 percent.

He pointed out that the industry is suffering from HR crises, which seriously
needs to be addressed. People shortage is something that needs attention. The
biggest challenge being the trained manpower attrition.

The award ceremony was followed by the categories in larger cities having
gold and silver winners across the retailers, systems integrators, and
resellers.

Awards were given by Paras Shah, MD, Neoteric; PG Kamat, GM, Lexmark; Sandeep
Nair, MD, Emerson India; Suresh Pansari, MD, Rashi Peripherals; Sharad Srivastav,
Director of Sales-India and South Asia, Western Digital; Ajay Verma, Director-Channel
and Alliances, Symantec and Shyam Malhotra.

The best channel partner award for Aurangabad was given to Accord Computers.
The Best Channel Partner for Maharashtra Upcountry, Silver award went to
Navjeevan Computers and Gold was bagged by Golden Systems. The Kolhapur/Sangli
award went to Veetrag Computers. In Nagpur Business Algorithms won the Silver
award and Best Channel Partner Gold award was bagged by Mayur Computers.

The Best Channel Partner for Nashik was won by Nice Computers. Thane/Vashi
belt award went to Gudnet Computers and the Best Channel Partner for Goa
Upcountry, to Amey Computers. Magnamious Systems was selected as the Best
Channel Partner for Goa.

For Baroda Rhythm Electronics received the Best Channel Partner award and the
Most Promising Channel Partner award for Rajkot was won by Anil Infotech. The
Best Channel Partner Rajkot was Net-Link Infocom.

The Best Channel Partner award for Surat went to Ria Computers, Best Channel
Partner in Raipur went to Priyanka Computers, Best Media Reseller in Ahmedabad
to Mehta Brothers and the Best Software Reseller Ahmedabad was awarded to TM
Systems. In Ahmedabad, the Best Reseller Award was bagged by V Supply, Best
Systems Integrator went to Silver Touch Technologies and the Best Sub
Distributor award went to Care Office Equipment.

The Best Software Reseller in Pune went to Benelec Infotec, the Best Media
Reseller to Insat Lynx Computers, Best Retailer went to Compucity.

The Best Systems Integrator for Pune went to Concept Information Technologies,
the Best Reseller Pune to GV Sales, the Best Sub Distributor, Pune to Datacare
Corporation, the Best Media Reseller to Bon Moyar Computers.

The Best Software Reseller went to Softcell Technologies Mumbai. The Best
Retailer Silver award was bagged by Gigahertz, the Best Retailer Gold by
Cyberciti, Best Reseller Silver by Triune Marketing, the Best Reseller Gold by
A-plus Computers and the Best Systems Integrator Silver award by Orient
Technologies.

The Best Systems Integrator Gold award was given to Allied Digital Services,
the Best Sub Distiributor Silver to Aar Vee Computers and the Best Sub
Distributor Gold went to Kay Kay Overseas.
