Zebra introduces thermal desktop label printer

Zebra Technologies has introduced a thermal transfer desktop label printer,
TLP 3844-Z. Offering 300 dpi resolution print quality and fast output from a
32-bit RISC processor, the printer also features reduced space symbology and can
print fine text, complex graphics, RSS barcodes, two-dimensional barcodes and
other complex label formats.

Using thermal transfer printing, the print images are less likely to become
distorted if rubbed, damaged or exposed to sunlight. The 3844-Z features
comprehensive networking features for advanced monitoring, control and
application development.

Based around the Zebra Programming Language, it includes connectivity
options, including parallel, series and USB interfaces plus an internal ethernet
option. It has the ZebraNet PrintServer II and Basic Interpreter, a programming
tool that allows the printer to interpret foreign data streams for companies
that need to integrate a variety of barcode printers and legacy systems.
